Employment peaked in 2004 (over recent times) at just under 540,000, and this has fallen to the figure highlighted above 505,000.

  • 18% earn up to £15,000 per annum
  • 28% earn 15,001 to £20,000 per annum
  • 22% earn 20,001 to £25,000 per annum
  • 14% earn £25,001 to £30,000 per annum
  •  7% earn £30,001 to £35,000 per annum
  •  4% earn £35,001 to £40,000 per annum
  •  1% earn over £75,000

Job areas include everything  from culture, media, sport, children, schools, families, environment, food, rural affairs, health, business, defence, work and pensions, stationary office and many, many more.
